Dr. Morgan received a bachelor of arts degree in English from University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, and a medical degree from Howard University School of Medicine. She was a resident in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Virginia Health Systems, where she then served as Chief Administrative Fellow in the division of Hematology and Oncology.

Dr. Morgan has received numerous awards during her career
including Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, the Janet M. Glasgow Memorial Achievement Award, and the Raymond P. Jackson Award for commitment to academic achievement through exemplary contribution to the Student Tutorial Program. She is a member of the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Committee.
