Dr. Hwang received a bachelor of science degree in biology from George Washington University in Washington DC, and his medical degree from American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Robert Packer Hospital, Guthrie Clinic in Sayre, Pennsylvania, followed by a fellowship in hematology and oncology at the State University of New York at Stony Brook Medical Center in Stony Brook, New York.

Honors & Memberships

Dr. Hwang is a member of the American Medical Association, American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American College of Physicians. He has been honored by the Donald Guthrie Foundation for Medical Research for a paper entitled “Eighteen Years of Benign Aseptic Meningitis: Mollaret's Meningitis in a Middle-Aged Female,” and for Excellence in Faculty Teaching by the University of Illinois School of Medicine in Urbana, Illinois.
